What to know

Who needs tilt & recline?

Tilt and recline are medically necessary for users who cannot independently perform weight shifts, have significant postural support needs, or require repositioning for respiratory function.

Tilt vs recline — what’s the difference?

Tilt shifts body weight backwards while keeping the seat-to-back angle constant. Recline opens the seat-to-back angle — used for extended rest or catheterisation. Complex systems combine both.

Pressure injury prevention

Tilt-in-space is a primary intervention for preventing pressure injuries. Repositioning every 15–30 minutes significantly reduces interface pressure at bony prominences.

Insurance & Medicare coverage

Power tilt, recline, and positioning features are covered by Medicare Part B when documented as medically necessary. Our team manages all documentation and prior authorisation.
