Description

Future Mobility Orion II 500 heavy-duty tilt-in-space wheelchair

The Orion II 500 is a heavy-duty manual tilt wheelchair designed for people who weigh 250–500 lb. Tilting the whole seat back – while keeping hip and knee angles the same – lets the user shift their weight for comfort and pressure relief, and makes repositioning easier and safer for the caregiver.

It’s one of the most widely used heavy-duty tilt chairs in the bariatric market, built on a steel frame and sized from 24″ to 32″ wide so it can be fitted to the person who uses it. Designed and made in Canada by Future Mobility.

Key features

  • Dual gas cylinders – a smoother, controlled tilt for both the user and the caregiver, rated to 500 lb
  • Attendant trigger tilt – the caregiver tilts the chair easily from the push handle

  • Rear crossbar – added frame stability
  • Push or pull wheel locks – with a brake extension built into the handle
  • Adjustable back angle – −7°, 0°, 7°, 14° or 21°
  • Low or tall stroller-handle push bar
  • Front rigging choices – swing-away footrests or elevating legrests
